• Cultivating and managing relationships with media representatives, as well as developing and maintaining a media contact list
• Addressing possible crisis situations promptly and directly, correcting misinformation, etc.
• Preparing stakeholders and other colleagues for interviews, public appearances, etc.
• Maintaining an active press calendar
• Enhancing the company’s reputation and image with timely articles, editorial proposals, broadcasts, live videos, etc.
• Implementing analytical strategies to identify potential for improvement of media relations and creating reports on media communications activities and results with actionable suggestions for improvement
• Managing, organizing, and overseeing the production of accurate and engaging content based on research and communication with subject matter experts 
• Acting as a spokesperson on behalf of the company and responding to questions and complaints
• Managing the media budget

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field
• 3+ years of experience in a managerial position in a public relations, communications, or marketing department
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Aptitude for writing and storytelling—writing portfolio is required
• Strong command of AP style
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and CMS, such as WordPress, Drupal, Joomla, etc.
• In-depth knowledge of advertising via social media platforms—Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, etc.
• A significant network of connections with media outlets, reporters, etc.
