We are looking for a new PR Account Coordinator to join our marketing department. The primary duty you will assume in this role is developing and overseeing the proper execution of PR campaigns for our clients. This is accomplished by regularly meeting with clients and discussing their goals, vision, business needs, and the products and services they offer with the aim to create suitable initiatives that best reflect their brand.
A PR Account Coordinator is responsible for building media lists, taking minutes during meetings, and handling associated tactical account work to ensure the proper execution of PR strategies. You will be expected to assist higher-ups in the implementation of key strategic planning processes by coordinating scheduling, promotions, and email campaigns and newsletters, as well as by assembling press kits.
You will work under project leaders and account managers and assist them with the development and implementation of PR and community engagement plans, including handling the goals, budget, tactics, and overall strategy for a variety of clients across different industries. PR Account Coordinators are also accountable for handling online and offline materials—writing, copyediting, proofreading, and publication.
PR Account Coordinator Responsibilities
Assist with the development of communication tactics by building, managing, and maintaining media lists for clients across industries
Develop media materials and written content, such as newsletters, blog posts, press releases, fact sheets, or media alerts
Research speaking opportunities and industry trends pertinent to our clients to devise appropriate solutions regarding communication strategies
Monitor media coverage and communicate results to the PR team to facilitate content development and tracking on behalf of clients
Build and maintain a media contact database, and cultivate new and existing contacts to provide strategic guidance on engaging with the media, subject matter experts, influencers, and other external stakeholders
Define strategies for the marketing communications plan by identifying new PR opportunities, such as newsworthy topics or thought leadership content
Prepare tactical plans and quarterly activity reports to enable strategic plan development and execution
Coordinate PR strategies and tactics in collaboration with the digital and creative teams
PR Account Coordinator Requirements
1 year of PR experience
Bachelor’s degree in PR, Marketing, Journalism, Communications, or a related field
Exceptional multitasking and organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines at once
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to build and nurture relationships with target media, clients, and team members
Solid presentation and negotiation skills
Knowledge of leveraging social media for business (branding and advertising) is considered a huge plus
