Vervoe markets itself primarily as a job simulation platform for testing technical and soft skills. On the other hand, eSkill focuses on both simulation and individual skill assessments—job and subject-based, behavioral, and cognitive. 

Keep in mind that some candidates had technical issues with Vervoe’s assessments, especially when uploading video responses. 

While Vervoe has around 300 assessments in its library covering around 9 subjects, eSkill offers over 800 assessments on 24 subjects. Most Vervoe tests have 10 questions, but eSkill’s usually have 40. The latter also has an extensive question database you can consult to add more questions.

Besides pre-employment, eSkill can be used in other contexts, such as academic, industry certification, and even employee training and development.

AI assistance can save you a lot of time. Although it might need human oversight for more complicated questions and tasks, the AI can accurately grade most answers, even the audio and video ones.

It also introduces behavior metrics that are difficult to detect manually, which you can use to identify problematic areas and modify your tests accordingly. Custom integrations might be possible, but they entail additional costs. 

Most users don’t experience any integration problems with either of these platforms. Still, some eSkill users had complaints, especially those who use lesser-known programs, such as Bullhorn, and Jobvite. The main issues reported are loss of functionalities and limited request processing. Vervoe’s users experienced issues too, but to a lesser degree. Some users wished for “deeper” integration.

The Pay & Go plan comes with only one assessment and up to 100 candidates. The features include custom questions (up to 5), AI grading, bulk invitations, a company welcome video, and CSV data exports. 

If you plan on hiring more than 50 people a year, go with the annual plan, which unlocks features such as ATS integration, custom assessments, and company branding.

Although it’s possible to pause the subscription, users took issue with the inflexibility of Vervoe’s pricing plans. Once you pass the 100-candidate limit, tests can still be taken, but you can’t see the results until you upgrade.
