We are looking for a Social Media and Communications Assistant to help our team promote and optimize the brand’s outreach programs on social media. 

You will create and publish engaging content for our social media channels, ensuring everything we post is on-brand. This role also includes brainstorming ideas, writing and editing different forms of content, making basic designs for our socials, and providing essential assistance to the marketing department. 

To excel in this role, you should have excellent writing and editing skills, a basic understanding of image design software (e.g., Canva), and experience managing different social media platforms.

Since this role requires you to collaborate with the Communications, PR, and Marketing teams, exceptional communication and organizational skills are necessary.

Responsibilities

• Support the Marketing department in developing, executing, and optimizing communications strategies
• Assist the Digital Media Manager with tracking media coverage, monitoring engagements, and identifying partnership opportunities
• Schedule and record meetings to ensure efficient knowledge transfer between cross-functional departments
• Assist the Marketing team with measuring the impact of social media campaigns by analyzing key metrics, industry trends, etc
• Create narrative analysis and weekly reports on social media activities, engagements, and promotional campaigns
• Draft, edit, and proofread communications copies for various social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, etc.)

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, or a related field
• 2+ years of experience as a Communications Assistant (or a similar role)
• Excellent written and communication skills
• Solid proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
• Basic knowledge of Social Media Marketing and Analytics
• Good understanding of design software and editing
• Social media copywriting skills are a plus
