We are looking for an experienced Bulletin Editor to plan, coordinate, review, and edit content for our organization’s online bulletin board.
Our ideal candidate is detail-oriented with excellent writing and editing skills. The role includes daily communication with the writers and other contributors, so excellent communication skills and the capacity to provide objective and constructive feedback are a must.
The ability to oversee the publication layout for a news bulletin and meet deadlines is crucial to succeed in this role. Candidates with prior experience in report writing will be given preference.
Responsibilities
- Review, proofread, and edit content for the news bulletin
- Report and publish news events across all digital platforms
- Set publication standards
- Source, research, and verify stories on events before publishing
- Define strategies to promote online presence for our news bulletin
- Liaise with writers, artists, and designers
- Develop cohesive content goals with the Communications Manager
- Oversee bulletin deliverables by finalizing pitches for news stories
- Maintain editorial standards by reviewing author contributions
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, or related fields
- Proficiency in writing, editing, and proofreading
- Experience working with desktop publishing programs (Microsoft Publisher, Adobe In-Design, etc.)
- Minimum 1 year experience in report writing
- Familiar with style guides like APA, MLA, Chicago, etc.
- Excellent communication skills
