VP of Sales and Marketing Job Description Template

We are looking for a VP of Sales and Marketing to establish annual sales goals, designate objectives of our sales and marketing departments, develop growth and market expansion plans, set KPIs, and prospect partnership opportunities within and across industries.

Our ideal candidate is a Bachelor of Science or a Master of Business Administration, with at least 10 years of Marketing and Sales experience and at least 5 years of experience in a senior managerial role. The candidate is expected to have advanced experience with industry-related software and advanced interpersonal and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Researching the market’s supply and demand for the products and services we offer
• Prospecting business partners and developing commercial relationships with industry leaders
• Developing annual marketing and sales plans based on research and our goals
• Coordinating and optimizing regional sales strategies
• Managing product distribution and advertising channels
• Supervising the marketing and sales department
• Allocating budgets for marketing campaigns and product distribution
• Creating new and updating existing operating procedures for our sales and marketing team
• Designing a progress-tracking and reward system based on individual or departmental achievements
• Reporting to the board of directors about the success of the marketing and sales department
• Suggesting strategic changes based on received reports

Requirements

• 10–15 years of experience working in Sales and Marketing
• A bachelor’s degree or higher in Business or related fields
• 5 years of proven leadership/project management experience
• Diverse negotiation and sales techniques
• Expert computer literacy and experience working in CRM software (Bitrix24, Salesforce, or Zoho)
• Proficiency in using analytical tools like Google Analytics, SEMrush, etc. 
• Data-oriented approach and excellent problem-solving skills
• The ability to lead by example
• Strong interpersonal skills
