Content Coordinator Job Description Template
We are searching for an experienced Content Coordinator to manage and produce written and visual content and choose the layout for our website. You are expected to conduct market research and understand our target audience to optimize the website’s visual and overall content according to their needs. You must make sure that all the information on our website is up to date and accessible from all browsers and devices.
Some of your day-to-day tasks include posting and editing content for web pages using JavaScript, CSS, and HTML. You are also in charge of creating our website’s visual materials using Photoshop, Illustrator, and similar tools.
You will report to our Content Manager, work with Developers on website optimization, show new employees how to use content management systems, and create SEO-focused content briefs for our writers.
A basic understanding of social media marketing is necessary as you will help our marketing team devise, manage, and monitor social media campaigns. To qualify, you must have 3–5 years of experience in a similar role. A Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Journalism, Advertising, or Digital Communication is an advantage.
Responsibilities
- Manage and optimize the layout and content of our website
- Conduct market and keyword research
- Produce content tailored for our target audience
- Create visual content for our website
- Apply the best SEO practices to the design, content, and layout of our website to ensure our articles rank well
- Create content briefs for writers when necessary
- Teach new employees how to operate content management systems (WordPress, Joomla, Drupal, and similar)
- Check the quality of content scheduled for publication
- Work alongside our marketing team to develop and manage social media campaigns
- Analyze the success of published content using various KPIs, such as average time spent on page, page views, or bounce rate
Requirements
- 3–5 years of experience as a Content Coordinator or in a similar role
- Expertise in using content management systems
- Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- Familiarity with graphic design tools, such as Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
- Ability to interpret KPIs, such as click-through rate, bounce rate, and traffic sources and create easy-to-understand reports
- Experience in content creation, editing, and management
- Basic knowledge of social media marketing
- Bachelor’s degree in Advertising, Marketing, Journalism, or Digital Communication is preferred
