Blog Writing Job Description Template
We are searching for an experienced, creative, and driven Blog Writer who can create engaging content for our company/our clients’ blogs. You will be creating highly informative, relevant, valuable, engaging blog posts on a variety of topics, such as [list topics/industries].
You will be expected to write [number of words] per day, proofread your articles before submitting the drafts, and revise articles after receiving feedback from our editors. The articles must be well-researched, unique and 100% factually correct, easy to read, and SEO friendly.
The ideal candidate should be able to write about a wide range of topics across different industries and possess excellent research skills. Superb command of the English language, knowledge of basic SEO principles, and familiarity with WordPress are a must. To be considered for the role, you must send a portfolio of verifiable previous work that demonstrates both your research and writing skills.
Responsibilities:
- Creating original, highly-informative, engaging, and plagiarism-free content on [list topics/niches]
- Proofreading and editing blog posts before publication
- Periodically rewriting and optimizing existing blog posts
- Incorporating the company’s/clients’ branding, tone, and voice guidelines into your articles
- Implementing SEO best practices into your written content—keywords, keyword variation, bullets, lists, tables, etc.
- Taking part in brainstorming sessions to come up with content ideas
- Responding to comments left by readers
- Publishing blog posts in WordPress
Requirements:
- Proven work experience as a content writer
- Verifiable portfolio of published articles
- Excellent command of the English language
- Superb research, writing, and editing skills
- Basic knowledge of SEO
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism or a related field is an advantage
- Experience in using WordPress is a strong plus
