We are looking for a creative Nonprofit Website Content Writer to create content for our website. You will be responsible for writing informative and engaging short- and long-form articles, blog posts, and landing pages following the best SEO practices to highlight our mission, showcase the work we are doing, and tell impactful stories.
Your daily responsibilities include conducting research on assigned topics, interviewing volunteers, donors, and industry experts, and creating and proofreading content that follows our language and style guidelines.
You might also work alongside the marketing and graphic design team and participate in creating eye-catching and persuasive marketing campaigns that will attract people to join our cause.
Responsibilities
- Create content in the form of articles, blogs, how-to guides, and infographics for our website
- Research assigned topics and conduct interviews with volunteers, donors, and industry experts when necessary
- Conduct in-depth keyword research and apply SEO strategies to your articles to increase content and brand visibility
- Write and post social media content when necessary
- Work with the marketing team to brainstorm content ideas and create landing page and social media content to promote fundraising campaigns
- Proofread content before sending it to the editor
- Review old content to update information and improve readability
- Keep track of web analytics to identify the website visitors’ needs and suggest ways of improvement
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or relevant field
- Prior content writing experience
- Basic knowledge of SEO, web analytics (such as Google Analytics and Sprout Social), content management systems, and word processors (such as Microsoft Office and Google Docs)
- Ability to follow our writing guidelines and create content that adheres to our vision and mission
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience in creating and managing social media content is a plus
