2. Joining dozens and dozens of groups

4. Posting your job ad
5. Returning a few days later to drop the link

Build a list of hiring channels

Create a new Google Sheet and title it “Hiring Channels — Writers” with 5 columns:

1. Name
2. URL
3. Member #s
4. Joined?
5. Posted?
6. Sent link?

Go to facebook.com/groups/ and type in a keyword

1. Open up each group in a new tab
2. Apply to join the group
3. Add the details to your tracking spreadsheet
4. Write [X] in the ‘Joined?’ column

Join as many relevant groups as possible. 

Keep going until you get 50–100 groups on your spreadsheet.

Most Groups will approve you in 3–7 days.

Post your job ad

For simplicity, it’s easier to batch job posts into a single block of time.

Starting from the top of your list, open each Facebook Group in a new tab, and copy/paste your job description into the post.

This is important:

Do not post the job ad URL in your post.

Facebook will reduce the reach of your post with external links, and you will receive fewer candidates.

Only post the job ad description, because in a few days you’ll return and send the link to anyone who commented on your post or in your DMs.

Copy/paste the URL of each post in each group back into your tracking spreadsheet.

Here is some example job copy and an image you can borrow to maximize reach of your post.

Go to your tracking spreadsheet, and open each job post URL in a new tab.

Reply back to each candidate who commented on your posts with a link to your job ad.

Check your Facebook DMs, and Other inboxes for candidates, and send the link to each candidate that DM’d you.

Candidates will begin streaming into your hiring dashboard every day.

Now it’s time to sit back, relax and wait for candidates to submit their assessments.

View completed assessments, and send candidates a polite rejection email or an invitation to interview without switching between apps.
