HireHiveis an Ireland-based applicant tracking system (ATS) that focuses mainly on small and mid-sized companies, enabling them to optimize and streamline their internal hiring processes by setting up a careers page, distributing job ads, and scheduling interviews.
Besides catering to SMBs, HireHive offers plans and functionalities dedicated to enterprises and staffing agencies, such as a dedicated account manager.
In this review, we’ll go over HireHive’s essential features, its downfalls, and pricing.
We’ll also introduce an alternative that ups the ante by adding candidate assessment features to the mix.
HireHive—Key Features
While it’s not kitted out with hundreds of features like some of its competitors, HireHive is an easy-to-use platform, and you’ll take no time getting used to it.
The platform helps you automate and speed up every step of the hiring process—starting with creating a job post within HireHive with custom application forms and prescreening questions. You can automatically post ads on major job boards, such as SimplyHired, Indeed, and Glassdoor. All you need to do is choose the job boards you’re interested in, and HireHive will create the post for you. The platform keeps track of how each job ad performs, and you can boost or remove listings as you see fit.
The software uses bulk CV parsing to create a resume database and flag duplicates immediately. You can move candidates through customizable pipelines or transfer them to a different funnel if they’re more suitable for another position. You can select what application statuses you want to have, thus creating your unique pipeline.
HireHive allows you to communicate with candidates without leaving the platform through integrations with all major email providers. You can schedule interviews for further assessment, but note that this feature is not available in the introductory plan. HireHive also allows you to use API to customize your job posts and the way they display on your website.
HireHive—Downsides
While the most advanced plan is not overflowing with functionalities, the introductory plan is still underwhelming and lacks many essential features.
One of the issues that you’ll stumble upon is the pricing model, which requires you to pay extra to unlock some basic features. For example, if you get the starter plan, you’ll miss out on interview scheduling, integration support, and data import.
HireHive also lacks some of the functionalities that most ATSs have, such as push notifications, advanced analytics, quick search, and a more responsive mobile app.
HireHive—Integrations
HireHive has integrated with several productivity tools and solutions for scheduling and conducting interviews. The platform also integrates with the best global and niche job boards, and you can use the software to post job listings automatically.
Note that the API and integrations in general are unavailable in the first two pricing plans.
HireHive—Pricing
HireHive offers a 14-day free trial during which you can familiarize yourself with the software and check if it’s the right fit. You don’t need to leave your credit card information to get the free option.
If you want to continue using the platform once the trial ends, you’ll need to choose one of the five pricing plans:
Starter—$49 per month
Big—$99 per month
Super—$149 per month
Mega—$249 per month
Enterprise—$349 per month
You can opt to get billed annually and save two months’ worth of payments. For example, a yearly Starter plan is $490, while the Mega plan is $2,490 a year. The company also accepts payments in GBP and EUR.
Aside from the pricing, subscription plans differ in the features they offer and the number of open job posts you can have, as shown in the table below:

Alternatives to HireHive
If HireHive doesn’t check all your boxes, you can choose one of many other ATS solutions out there.
We’ve reviewed dozens of them, and you can learn more about each platform here:
Workellois an ATS originally designed to cater to SMBs looking to hire content team members but is efficient at meeting the needs of businesses across different industries. It’s easy to use and helps with high-volume recruiting by offering a template library, an assessment builder, and a single-page dashboard that allows you to move candidates through the funnel with a single click.
You can use the dashboard to review resumes, send tests, and assess, reject, and hire candidates. Regarding assessments, Workello allows you to send tests to candidates with impressive resumes automatically. This way, you can see the quality of their work before you employ them. With HireHive, your only assessment method (besides reviewing portfolios) is an interview.
When you change a candidate’s status in Workello, they will receive an automated email and will be able to learn about their application status from their candidate status page.
Workello doesn’t keep any of its features locked behind a pricier subscription plan. You get everything Workello offers with both plans—the only difference is how you get billed and the number of assessments you want to make:
Growth—$299, billed quarterly (up to 30 assessments)
Scale—$579, billed annually (up to 300 assessments)
