Founded in 2015, MightyRecruiter is an ATS whose key features are candidate management, automated job posting on various job boards, and candidate prescreening. It is aimed at small and mid-sized businesses and boasts a resume database of over 20 million entries that employers can browse.

The company advertises itself as a free ATS, and while you can create a free account, many of its features—such as seeing the full resume of a candidate—are locked behind a paywall. 

In this review, we’ll break down MightyRecruiter’s key features and explain the pricing plans they conveniently left out.

Advantages of MightyRecruiter

The first thing that will catch your eye is how MightyRecruiter is easy to set up. While it lacks other HR capabilities like absence and payroll management, MightyRecruiter focuses on the hiring process. The platform has job description templates, ranks candidates to help recruiters find the best matches, and enables you to build a career website without coding.

When you create a job listing via MightyRecruiter, it will automatically post it on several job boards and share it on Facebook and LinkedIn (if enabled). Again, the company advertises its services as entirely free, but only the first job posting is free—the rest come with a fee.

The number one issue with MightyRecruiter is its apparent false advertisement. You’ll never see it mentioned that they have pricing plans besides the free one. Even when you create an account, you’ll need to reach out to their customer service to find out the costs of additional features. 

For example, you can’t see contact information in a resume from their database until you contact support and go through the process of getting a costlier subscription. They also charge you for posting more than one job opening.

You can post a job ad through MightyRecruiter if you’re already using a separate ATS. If you do this, MightyRecruiter won’t be able to track and monitor your job ad performance.

Regarding other integrations, MightyRecruiter allows sharing your job post on LinkedIn and Facebook automatically.

Except—it’s not. While you’ll get all the functionalities with a free account, their uses will be limited or partly unlocked. 

You can preview the resume database for free, but you can’t contact the person you’re interested in without paying up. The same goes for posting a job ad that’s free for the first time but comes with a fee after that.

Even when you use MightyRecruiter, you still don’t know how much it’ll cost to unlock these features. You need to “contact an expert” (i.e., their customer support) to learn more about it.
