Based in the United Kingdom, TriSys recruitment software is a two-in-one solution that combines an applicant tracking system (ATS) for SMBs looking to hire for themselves with client relationship management (CRM) software for staffing agencies and recruiter companies that assist their own customers with the hiring process.
Since modernizing its design and backend functionality a few years ago, TriSys has become a reliable, cloud-based software for companies looking to automate their hiring funnels.
In this review, we’ll show you how TriSys recruitment software works and how much it costs, and we’ll compare it to other popular ATS solutions. We’ll also introduce Workello, a platform that combines an ATS with skill assessment software.
Key Features of TriSys
TriSys helps you set up a hiring workflow and automates the hiring process so that you don’t have to log candidates manually and keep track of which stage of the funnel each candidate is in.
The software allows you to quickly set up your careers page on your company website using one of 100+ website templates (dedicated to recruiting websites) and a simple drag-and-drop editor.
Once applications start coming your way, you can use the dashboard to move them through the funnel. You can create custom workflows and application statuses.
Thanks to its collaboration with Zapier, TriSys supports over 5,000 app integrations that can help you automate various aspects of applicant tracking (email correspondence, interview scheduling, and giving tasks to recruiting officers) and make you feel at home by integrating the apps you’re already used to.
TriSys has a handy support platform where you can go in-depth about each feature and learn how to optimize your use of the software. It also has a CRM section where you can share documents with clients, create reports, and invite them to be present at interviews.
TriSys—Downsides
One of the major stumbling blocks with TriSys is the UI. While it’s not the most complex ATS regarding the number of solutions, it could have been user-friendlier. You’ll need to take your time adjusting to it, especially if you’ve never used an ATS before. They have loads of training videos to help you with the process, but note that you’re getting software that requires watching training videos in the first place. This is especially challenging for SMBs looking to hire internally as they often have limited or zero experience with hiring software.
The additional trouble is that this training is not entirely free of charge. On top of the pricing you pay for the software, some of the courses come with extra fees.
Another issue is database creation. While it supports CV parsing (i.e., getting information out of resumes automatically), you need to add them manually to the database. The platform doesn’t support bulk additions, and applications don’t show up in the database automatically since it doesn’t integrate with job boards.
The platform also conspicuously lacks prescreening assessment options, so you’ll have to rely only on resumes and interview answers to base your opinion about a candidate.
TriSys—Integrations
The platform doesn’t integrate with any job boards. Note that integrations with job boards mentioned in the list below refer to their other features, not the job posting itself. For example, Facebook integration allows you to create a promotional campaign easily but won’t help you set up a job post.
Still, TriSys supports more than 5,000 integrations, some of which are:
Curiously, the only evident difference between the two plans, apart from the price, is that the Enterprise plan comes with a PC app.
TriSys—Customers
TriSys is available to companies from all over the world, with the only restriction being the language—the platform supports English only. Despite its worldwide availability, most customers come from the United Kingdom.
TriSys has not disclosed any names of the companies that use its software for hiring.
Alternatives to TriSys Recruitment Software
Looking for an ATS solution that better fits your company’s needs? For example, one that will let you import resumes in bulk or test the candidates’ practical skills?
If you have reservations about TriSys, you don’t have to settle for it as there are hundreds of other platforms to choose from. We’ve reviewed dozens of ATS alternatives so that you can make the right choice:
Workello combines an ATS with pre-employment assessment software, helping SMBs set up their hiring funnels for high-volume recruiting. It’s easy to use and doesn’t involve a steep learning curve.
The main difference between the two platforms is that Workello focuses on companies looking for internal hiring exclusively—it doesn’t include any CRM solutions relevant only to staffing agencies like TriSys does.
Other differences come from the way the platforms work. Unlike TriSys, Workello lets you import resumes in bulk. When you post a job ad on various job boards, you can add the Workello link, and all applications with their documentation (resumes, portfolios, and cover letters) will show up in your centralized Workello dashboard automatically. From there, you can manage your candidates with a single click.
All you need to do is change their candidate status, and you’ll move them to the next stage of your funnel. You can review applications, send and assess tests, schedule interviews, and reject or offer a contract to candidates.
Applicants have a dedicated platform they can visit to learn about your selection process and their application status, which eliminates any need for time-consuming manual correspondence.
Workello as Assessment Software
Another benefit of Workello is that it’s also a pre-hire assessment platform. You can use hundreds of pre-written tests to assess your candidates’ skills before hiring them. This way, you can easily spot an unqualified applicant with an impressive portfolio. Your employees can log in to the platform and review test samples.
All Workello’s features are available in the introductory plan, and you don’t have to pay extra for additional users or functionalities. There are only two pricing plans you can choose, depending on how you want to get billed and how many assessments you want to conduct:
Growth—$299, billed quarterly (up to 30 assessments)
Scale—$579, billed annually (up to 300 assessments)
Aside from tests, the platform also has hundreds of job description templates to speed up the setup of your vacancy.
