Recruiting agencies and HR departments process heaps of data on vacancies, clients, and vendors. StaffingSoft is a cloud-based applicant tracking system (ATS) that helps you organize and manage this information from one place—its easy-to-use web platform. 

StaffingSoft, Inc. has more experience with HR software than most competing developers. This Texas-based company released the first version of its recruitment software in 1999. The modern version of StaffingSoft uses job posting automation, time management, and other features to improve your hiring workflow. 

How does StaffingSoft compare to the competition in terms of features and pricing? Does any other ATS for SMBs do a better job? We’ll answer those and other vital questions throughout this in-depth review. 

StaffingSoft—Key Features

StaffingSoft offers two versions of its ATS platform:

1. HR Edition—for individual employers and their HR reps
2. Staffing Edition—for recruiting agencies and their employees

Both versions have identical prices and the same set of core features:

Contacts Manager

This part of the platform is a simple but handy candidate management screen. It lists all your applicants, and you can search or filter them according to the following criteria:

Once you’ve found a specific candidate, you can:

1. Email or call them right from this screen
2. Download their resume

The Contacts Manager streamlines all candidate-related tasks—you only need to know a single piece of information about a candidate and enter it into the search box to access every possible interaction. This saves time you’d otherwise spend looking up their contact information or other data. 

Jobs Manager

Functionally, the Jobs Manager database is identical to the Contacts Manager—but it contains info on individual vacancies instead of candidates. If the job has any associated files, notes, or documents, you can access them from here. 

You can filter jobs according to their:

• Project names (one project can contain multiple jobs)
• Job IDs (every job has an alphanumeric ID)
• Job Title 
• Marketing Job Title (the title displayed on digital job boards)

Time Manager

Once you sign up for StaffingSoft, all your HR reps and recruiters create a simple user profile on the platform. They’ll need it to access many of StaffingSoft’s features, including its Time Manager screen.

The Time Manager is a multi-user calendar that your employees can use to make notes and create events. It makes scheduling more straightforward and faster because all changes are automatically visible to everyone with access to the company’s StaffingSoft account. 

You can also create different calendars for different roles; for example, you can have a separate Recruiter calendar and a separate Systems Administrator calendar. 

Downsides of StaffingSoft

As a database manager for recruiters and HR professionals, StaffingSoft is reputable and dependable. Most clients report that they’ve been using StaffingSoft for years, indicating that existing users are satisfied with the platform.

However, there are still a few downsides and missing features that make the platform less competitive in the modern software market. Hiring and HR software has come a long way since StaffingSoft’s beginnings in the late 90s, and the platform hasn’t fully caught up. 

For example, it has no workflow management, email automation, or candidate testing features. It’s an excellent database for organizing hiring data, but it doesn’t provide much automation beyond its one-click job posting feature. 

While the UI is easy to use, its visual design is also in dire need of an update—it looks like it hasn’t changed much since the early 2000s. 

The platform’s website could also use an overhaul to improve transparency—right now, there’s no info on potential integrations with third-party platforms or previous customers.

StaffingSoft has one of the most straightforward pricing strategies you can find with ATS software. Both versions of the platform have the same three subscription options, and all of them provide the same features:
